Arrival of equipment
This Wednesday around 2 pm, we received 450 micro:bits and 400 protective cases. Among these 450 micro:bits, 250 are for schools as part of the School-IT project and 200 are for students from 1st bachelor as part of another project named micro:PUNCH. Once we opened the packages, we realised the long work that was awaiting us. We had to assemble each little case on the micro:bit… one by one… by hand.
Everybody in our office joined in but some quickly abandoned. After all, we have two motivated trainees. So we decided to give them this tedious work. They worked relentlessly until the next day 1 pm (I promise, we didn’t make use of them, they were even offered a break) and finished to assemble all protective cases.
Friday morning, next step, we must fill individual boxes to ease the distribution. Each box will contain a micro:bit (with protection), a battery, two cables, two crocodile clips, 1 buzzer. Finally, with seven people working on the chain, we finished boxing one third of the micro:bits in half an hour. It was not necessary to finish the rest this week … anyway, we have no more boxes.
We are now ready to embark on this journey.
